Carrie Ann Dirks, 98, Paxton, Ill., formerly of Burlington, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the Ford County Nursing Home. She had been ill for one week. Born Jan. 11, 1877, in Ford County, Ill., she was the daughter of Christian G. and Isabelle (Knudson) Ryerson. In 1919, she married George Dirks, who died in 1968. A resident of Burlington from 1960 to 1972, she had been a member of the Burlington United Methodist Church. She had been a resident of Howard County from 1931 to 1960 and had lived in Paxton for the past three years.
There are no immediate survivors. Services were Monday at Neptune Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Karstedt and the Rev. Henry J. Dirks officiating. Burial was in the South Union Cemetery in Howard County.
