Billy Carson Persinger, 67, of Nova died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at his home.

He was born April 4, 1945, in Crab Orchard, W.Va., the son of Alfred A. and Erma (née Smith) Persinger.

He had lived in North Ridgeville for several years before moving to Nova in 1969.

Billy had served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1968 in Germany.

Billy had worked for General Motors-Parma Stamping Plant for 30 years, where he retired in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene (née Pedraza) Persinger; his children, Billy Carson Persinger Jr. of Pennsylvania and Tammy Kay Shifflett of Virginia Beach, Va.; two grandchildren, Jessica Kay and Dustin Lee Shaffer; and his siblings, Shelva Cox, Carolyn Thompson and Delmas Persinger, all of Beckley, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Betty Persinger, Rita Brock and Darrell and Harold Persinger.

Friends may call from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday, March 22, 2013, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Burial will follow in Nova Cemetery.
