She was the youngest and last surviving sibling. Mrs. Breen, fondly known as "Granny" in her senior years, traveled extensively in her early adult life but lived primarily in Charlotte, NC and later in NJ with her husband, Herbert, who preceded her in death in 1986. She had several professions in her life, but enjoyed private home nursing care for 20 years while residing in Hawthorne, NJ. She returned to Charlotte to be closer to family in 1978.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Youth Homes, inc., 500 E. Morehead Street, Suite 120, Charlotte, NC 28202, the non-profit children's agency directed by her grandson. A memorial fund will be created in her name that will support children who are adopted by loving families.
