Dr. Charles Sheridan Shoaff

After an illness of one week, Dr. Charles Sheridan Shoaff, aged 77, of Plaingrove, died in the Jameson Memorial hospital this morning at 8:15 o'clock. Dr. Shoaff was born in Neshannock Township on December 28, 1865, a son of William and Elizabeth Graham Shoaff. He started practicing as a physician in Jacksville, new Plaingrove, in 1895, and moved to Plaingrove in 1911. He had resided in Plaingrove ever since. Forty-eight years ago, Dr. Shoaff was married to the former Sarah George. He was a member of Plaingrove Presbyterian church. Survivors are his wife; the following children, Wendell H. of Somerset, Pa., George G. of R. D. 3 New Castle, Mrs. P. M. Blair of Pittsburgh, Mrs. H. K. Stevenson of Grove City, Frank A. with the U. S. Army, Newport News, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. J. E. Sankey of Plaingrove, Mrs. W. P. Sankey of New Castle, Mrs. Samuel Houston of New Castle; two brothers, M. G. Shoaff of Plaingrove, Peoples Shoaff of Los Angeles, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence with Rev. Edward T. Tuten in charge. Interment will be in Plaingrove United Presbyterian cemetery.
