July 7, 1910 -- July 18, 2006 Vernie B. McAllister Vernie B. McAllister, age 96 of Arab, died Tuesday at Barfield Health Care in Guntersville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew McAllister; son, Winston McAllister; several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Rogers and husband Freddie of Arab; son, Leon McAllister and wife Elizabeth of Huntsville; daughter-in-law, Betty Ruth McAllister of Scottsboro; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday. Funeral service will be at Huntsville Holiness Church at 11:00 AM Friday, with Rev. David Jones officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Aunt Vernie's biological fathers name was Izzie Kirk whom was married to Jessie Mae before Jessie married Luther. Thats how her and Orville were so close in age. Orville was Myrtles son with Luther.
