Eugene Dombovy, age 70, of Pierz, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, March 23, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 36055 – 213th Street, Hillman. Military honors were provided by the Little Falls V.F.W.
Eugene Edward Dombovy was born Dec. 14, 1942, in Platte Township, Morrison County, the son of Albert and Helen Dombovy. He grew up on a farm in Platte Township and attended country school and graduated from Little Falls High School class of 1960. Following his schooling, Eugene joined the U.S. Marines. After his honorable discharge from the service, Eugene worked in the Twin Cites before moving back to Morrison County. He was employed at Crestliner in Little Falls for 21 years and was currently employed at Grand Casino Mille Lacs as a Security Guard. He was united in marriage to Joanne Emerson on September 27, 2002. The couple made their home in Platte Township where they currently reside. Eugene enjoyed nature, spending time outdoors, his flower garden, and watching the birds. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Little Falls.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joanne of Pierz; mother, Helen Christiansen of Minneapolis; sisters, Carol Palashewski of Andover and Cheryl Hoeller of St. Helena, Calif.; brother, Gary of Minneapolis; stepchildren, Bobbi (Jo) Parcher of Dayton, Ohio and Gary Kowalkowski of Elk River; six stepgrandchildren, Curtis Scott, Emerson, Logan and Landon Kowalkowski, Tanner and Carver Parcher.
