George Preston Garrett, Jr., age 85, departed this earth on Sunday, February 27, 2005 to spend eternity with his God and Savior Jesus Christ. There he will join his wife of 53 years, Arlene Westlund Garrett, who preceded him in death in 1997.
He will be remembered most by those who knew him as a gentle and humble man, a devoted father to his special needs son, and kind to everyone he ever met.
Mr. Garrett was born March 26, 1919 in Pine Apple, AL. He served in the Air Force during WWII and settled in Moble, AL, where he raised his family before moving to Marietta, GA in 1967.
Mr. Garrett is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Lewe F. Sessions III, one son, George Preston Garrett III, one brother, William Garrett of Pensacola, FL and two sisters, Vera King, also of Pensacola, FL and Lois Roberson of Mobile, AL, threegrandchildren, Lewe F. Sessions IV and his wife Jill, Michael Brett Sessions and his wife MacKenzie and Kimberly Christian Sessions and one great-grandson also survives, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005 at
