WILMORE - Benjamin J. Sims, 36, husband of Katherine Kelley Sims, Wilmore, died unexpectedly in a traffic accident on Thursday, March 14. He was a native of Jessamine County born to Hugh Byron, Jr. and Helen Sallee Sims.

He had attended Jessamine County High School, an employee of Kellex Pest Control, a former Boy Scout, member of Wilmore United Methodist Church and had attended Great Commission Fellowship Church.

In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by step daughters Korianna and Kelsey Blackford, brothers Hugh Byron Sims III, Frank Stephen Sims, Sherman F. Peel III, sisters Lynn Jones, and Katherine Cherice Wiggs, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Remembrance Service will be held on 1pm Tuesday, March 19, at Clark Chapel in Wilmore with Pastor Jason Duncan and speaker Harland Lutz

He will be laid to rest in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.

Honoring him as pallbearers will be Sherman F. Peel III, Hugh Byron Sims III, Frank Sims , Bradley Cochran, Will Kelley, and Rick Payne.
