Henry M. Snevily, 67, of Stanton, formerly of Westfield, and brother of Robert S. Snevily, Westfield, town attorney, died Sunday in Muhlenberg Hospital, Plainfield after a long illness.

He was general manger of the Bell Syndicate, which distributes newspaper features.

A native of Brooklyn, Mr. Snevily was graduated from Columbia College in 1908. During World War I, he served in France as a lieutenant in an antiaircraft battalion. He worked on the editorial staff of Stars and Stripes after the Armistice. He also worked as a reporter on the New York Herold and as assistant city editor of the paper's Sunday magazine.

Mr. Snevily joined the Bell Syndicate in 1919.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Westfield; of Acanthus Lodge 725, F&AM, of Brooklyn, and a former member of the Echo Lake Country Club.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Snevily; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie S. Sheriman of Palo Alto, Cal., and Mrs. Frances S. Johnston of Shrewsbury and four grandchildren, in addition to his brother.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Gray's Funeral home; with the Rev. Dr. J. L. McCorison Jr., pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
