George Middle, 94, a long-time resident of this community, died Tuesday morning, August 20 at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital at Rock Rapids where he has been a patient for five and a half days.
Mr. Middle was born October 27, 1873, in Groningen, Netherlands, to Louis and Jantje Middle and came to this country at the age of 17. He married Siemontje Faber March 10, 1905, and they spent their lives in the Hull, Perkins and Rock Valley vicinity.
Mrs. Middle died in September of 1959. Two children, Louis and Frank, preceded him in death in 1966. Surviving children are Nellie of Rock Valley and Cornelius of Inwood.
He had 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. John Engbers in absence of the Rev. Van Drunen.
Pallbearers were Clarence Middle, Stanley Middle, Lawrance Middle and Marvin Middle, all grandchildren of the deceased.
