Carol was born May 13, 1942, in West Plains, Mo., to Jewell and Rothie Nell Maritt. When Carol was in her teens, her family moved to Buhl, Idaho. She graduated from Buhl High School in 1960. While working at the local drive-in, she caught the eye of Robert "Bob" Fields and they were soon married. Together they had two daughters, Teri and Patti.
Carol worked for many years at the Ramona Restaurant as a waitress, she worked at Don's Market as a checker and recently at the Buhl Elementary hot lunch program, where she deeply enjoyed being around the young students at the school.
She was a wonderful mother and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carol and Bob loved to go camping and RV-ing. They had a special camp spot, north of Ketchum, where they spent their summer vacation for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Robert Fields; two daughters, Teri (Mark) Henry and Patti (Corbin) Runyan; three grandsons, Joshua (Camryn) Henry, Cortlin (Amanda) Runyan and Channing Runyan; two great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter and one arriving soon; nine sisters and three brothers.
She was preceded in death by both parents and two sisters.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Buhl First Christian Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
