3/29/1953 - Funeral services for James Warrior Springfield, 59, who died Friday afternoon at his home, 5 Green Street., Southern Worsted Mills, after a long illness, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Mountain Creek Baptist Church by the Rev J. A. Cave, assisted by the Rev. Claude Hamby and the Rev J. M. Bruce. interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Bishop, Henry Richards, Bill Turner, W. Roy Waldrop, Earl Bridges and George Grant, Jr.
The honorary escort will be Dr. J. E. Brunson, Robert L. Gilstrap, C. M. Jones, G. T. Vaught, Toy Fleming, Thomas Gilstrap, T. G. Jones, S. L. Rogers, J. B. Jones, O. B. Howard, J. C. Mr. Springfield was a native of the Mountain Creek section, but for 19 years had lived in the Southern Worsted Mills Community. He was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church and of the Men's Bible Class.
The body will be at the home until one hour before the service when it will be placed in the church.
