She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a member of Lane's Chapel AME Zion Church in Niota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Hattie McCleary Moss; her husband, William Ward King; two brothers, PFC Issacc Thomas Moss and David Maynard Moss; and one brother-in-law, Harry Cullom Sr.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sisters, Rebecca Moss Cullom of Knoxville, and Elizabeth Moss of Etowah; one brother, Billy Ralph Moss of Etowah; her children, Shirley King-Peek and her husband, Marvin Peek, of Cleveland, Ohio, Carolyn Jean King, of Niota, James William King of Athens, and Marvin Lee King and his wife, Terilyn King, of Niota; three grandchildren, Marquita, Ke'ani and Shandel; two step-grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Mack officiating. Burial will follow in Athens Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
