Curtis Edward Lawrence age 86 of Smiths Grove died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. The Barren County native was a farmer and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a World War II Army Veteran.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Nina Hawks Lawrence of Smiths Grove; two sons, Michael Lawrence and wife Elaine and Marcus Lawrence and wife Kim all of Smiths Grove; four granddaughters Lodema Burgess and her husband Jamie, LaDonna Mathis and her husband Phillip, Ashley Simpson and her husband David and Holly Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey Edward Lawrence and Bessie Jane Lawrence; his brothers Lucian, Virgil, Rodney and Ray Lawrence and sisters Mildred Stone and Venus Dickerson.
Funeral services for Curtis Edward Lawrence will be held at 12noon Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Hardy and Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation from 1 to 8pm Friday and 9am to 12noon Saturday at the funeral home.
