She was born February 25, 1939 born in Royston, Texas to parents Willie Hodges Sr and Geneva("Gennie")[Hudson] Hodges.
She grew up in Roby,Texas before eventually moving to Odessa, Texas after her brother Willie Hodges Jr. moved there to find work. She meet George "Bubba" Bledsoe and was married to George until his death in 1979. She later married J.W.(Bill) Stovall until his death(15yrs).
She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church for 40 years serving in the Women's Mission, BTU, Women's Business and the Choir. She was a long time dedicated member of the Cassanettes Club.
Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday December the 10th at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. R.T. McNeil officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was an amazing, very strong and courageous lady. She did not mind giving and would give her last. She told you whatever was on her mind as well. Mrs. Stovall worked for the Ector County Independent School District for 30 years retiring in 2005.
She is preceded in death by husbands George "Bubba" Bledsoe and J.W. "Bill" Stovall, children: Randy, Willie James and Pamela. Surviving children include: Keith and Cecelia of Odessa and Gary of Houston and 10 grandchildren. A special thanks to Aunt Susie Hodges, Aunt Peggie Marsh, Loretta Cornish and Fannie Lawrence.
