Funeral services for Darla Gay Turner, 56, of Wagoner will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeremiah Blasi officiating.
Darla was born January 4, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas to her parents, William and Maxine Hess. She grew up and attended school in the Amarillo, Texas and Tucson, Arizona areas. In 1983, she met Tom while both were lost and without Christ. But the Grace and Mercy of God came into their lives and they were united in marriage in 1992. Darla was a homemaker and she also loved to work as a hospital and hospice volunteer. She enjoyed their membership in the Christian Motorcycle Association where she and Tom made many motorcycle runs and events, witnessing for Christ. Retiring to the lake area near Wagoner, she attended Grace Missionary Baptist Church whenever her health permitted and often wept when she was unable to go. After a courageous battle with health problems for the past several years, Darla passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 17 at her home near Wagoner. Darla was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Tisha McDonald and her daughter Carla Henson. Funeral arrangements and interment in the Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner are directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
