Valeria Wilson, age 75, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at her residence in Steens. Services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Phillips Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Terrel Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Fayette County, Alabama on Sunday, March 28, 1937, to the late Rufus and Eula Espy Smith. She was a retired employee of United Technologies and was a certified cosmetologist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lavader Skelton; and her brothers, Rayburn Smith and Wade Smith.
Survivors include her daughters, Scarlet Fleming, Steens, MS and Lorna Shirah, Steens, MS; sons, Mark Miller (Rachel), Tupelo, MS and John Fields (Amanda), Columbus, MS; sister, Martha Fairlene Livingston, Northport, AL; brothers, Bobby Smith, Fayette, AL and Raymond Smith, Fayette, AL; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Phillips Chapel Baptist Church 19658 Mormon Road Northport, AL 35475
