After the death of Janie's father and mother, lots were drawn for the home built on Amite Co., MS, land known as the McGehee Tract, which has been granted to Janie's great grandfather, Samuel McGehee, for Revolutionary War Services. Because Janie was a minor, Janie's lot was drawn by her step-father, Joseph Simpson Reeves.
Janie and Thaddeus reared their children in the home, which became known as the Beall-McGehee home. It was been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and eventually became the home of Janie and Thaddeus' great granddaughter, Robbie Yaun, who passed away Jan. 20, 2012
