Word was received in the city of the death from typhoid fever of E. H. Gau, which occurred in South Omaha last Saturday. The family formerly resided in this city and have not been living at their present home long. The family is almost in destitute circumstances. The remains will be sent to this city and the funeral will probably take place from the Christian church, the hour for the same not having been sent.

Mr. E. H. Gau [sic], who died in Omaha, was buried in Grand Island this morning at 9 o'clock. Only a short burial service was held at the grave. James R. McIntire conducted the same.

The remains of E. H. Gau, who died of typhoid fever, arrived in the city yesterday afternoon and the funeral occurred later from Sondermann's morgue. Relatives were in the city from Aurora to be in attendance. The funeral services were conducted at the grave by Rev. McIntire, of the Christian church.
