Darlene "Elaine" Stubbs, 76, of Edgerton, MO passed away, Friday, March 15, 2013.
She was born on July 31, 1936 to Leonard and Velma (Harper) Mayfield at home near Atwood, KS where she grew and graduated high school.
On October 29, 1958 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Dean Stubbs. After their marriage they resided on the family farm for 54 years.
Elaine worked for the Platte County Sheriff's Department for nearly 20 years, retiring as a Deputy Sheriff.
She was a member of the Little Platte Baptist Church. Elaine loved animals, especially her horses and cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Lloyd and Harold Mayfield; brother-in-law, Richard Stubbs and sister-in-law Betty Howe and husband Harold.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Lawrence, of the home; son, Jeffrey Stubbs, daughter, Vicki Silvey and husband Ron; granddaughter, Rachael Fulk and husband, Aaron; great-grandson, Isaac; sisters-in-law, Doris Hattey and husband David and Dorothy Stubbs; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 19th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
Donations: American Lung Association.
