Ray M. Spencer, 61, Athens, PA passed away on Saturday, January 09, 2010 at home. He was born on March 13, 1948 in Sayre, PA the son of the late William and Nellie Dull Spencer. Ray was a member of the Fort Sullivan American Legion Post #246 Athens, PA worked at the IR Athens from the time he graduated from school until 2000. He enjoyed renting movies, walking in town, and being in the country setting. He is predeceased by his brother Bill Spencer and sister Carol Daniels. He is survived by his son Mike and Jenn Spencer, Waverly, NY; grandchildren Brandon, Keegan, Virginia, Tyler, Matthew, Zacchariah, and Michaela Spencer, Waverly, NY; siblings Lois and Ernest Hand, Ft. Myers, FL, Fay Spencer, Waverly, NY, Jack and Margaret Spencer, Athens, PA, Donald Spencer, and Beverly and Ron Bleiler, Athens, PA; and special friends Ruth Holley and Sylvia Olmstead; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA from 12-2:00pm on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 2:00pm with Rev. Sharon Lowery officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
