Melissa Ann Monila "Lissie" Horne was daughter and youngest child of Warren Horn and Flora Ann Carmichael. Aunt Lissie never wed.
She was remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews, and by many of her great nieces and nephews. My father said her niece, Mattie Belle Horne Church, and her great niece, Doris Virginia "Candy" Horne, looked just like Aunt Lissie. That you could sit the three of them side by side and not tell them apart.
A friend came across some information about Lissie when they learned I was related to her. Seems Lissie was engaged to marry a young man named Neil Hayes. But Neil got involved in some sort of fracas and was charged and convicted of killing another man. Another friend later sent me a newspaper clipping of the trial of Neil Hayes. I have been unable to confirm which Neil Hayes this was.
