Milton L. Liveoak, the fifth child of Franses and Mary Liveoak, was born in 1838, in Georgia. He was twenty-three years old in 1861, when the Civil War began. The 1860 census listed his occupation as a farm laborer.

Milton enlisted in the Confederate Army on June 17, 1861, at Camp Bradford, Coosa Co., Alabama, as a Private.

The Confederate Army records describe him as having fair complexion, grey, (blue) eyes, and sandy hair.

He was sent to Union Mills, Va. He died or was killed in battle on August 22, 1861. Milton only lived two months and five days after enlisting in the Army.
