Mrs. Lorena E. Wagner, 78, a resident of Sunny Ridge Nursing Home, since October of 1994, died there Thursday evening, March 6, 1997. Lorena was born April 3, 1918 in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County to John and Louisa Oehmichen Schwartz. On April 4, 1945 she married Harvey J. Wagner. The couple made their home in Sheboygan and later Millersville, before returning to Sheboygan in 1966, where they resided on North 28th Street. Mr. Wagner, a long time employee of Schultz Sav-O Stores, Inc., preceded her in death on September 22, 1992. Mrs. Wagner was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Dale St. Thomas, Sheboygan; a granddaughter, Sara; a sister, Flora Herzog, Sheboygan; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Schwartz, Howards Grove and Caroline Schwartz, Newton. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, 7 pm at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Burial will take place in St. James Cemetery, Spring Valley. Friends may call at Ballhorns on Sunday from 4:30 pm until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in her name to benefit youth programs at Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
