Mrs. Cranston Heckmann, 87, a resident of Spring Valley, died Wednesday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient the past week and a half.
The former Elsie Lorfeld was born Nov. 24, 1891 in the Town of Meeme, daughter of David and Cecelia Lutze Lorfeld.On Nov. 14, 1918 she married Cranston Heckmann. The couple, who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August, operated a dairy and cheese factory at Spring Valley. Mrs. Heckmann was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley, and VFW Auxiliary 8974, Cleveland.

Survivors are her husband; two sons, Warren and Edward, both of Route 1, Newton; three daughters Mrs. Herman (Bernice) Nass of Zephyr Hills, Fla., Mrs Glenn (Marjorie) Coleman of Sandusky, Ohio; and Mrs. David (Elizabeth) LaDuke of Harper Woods, Mich,; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Berger of Sheboygan and Mrs. Francis Schultz of Neenah; 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Heckman was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. James UCC, Spring Valley, the Rev. Charles Barnes pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel, Cleveland, after 4 p.m. Friday and until 11 a.m. Saturday, and at the church from noon Saturday until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established.
