Madeline, as she was known, was born in Vesuvius, Virginia, on February 6, 1914, the third of eight children to Charlie Updike Bradley and Beatrice Vernon Fitzgerald, who predeceased her April 3, 1985.
In 1933, Madeline married Livius Fenton Worrell. In 1943, she married C. Howard Mize, who predeceased her on April 3, 1983.
In addition to her parents; and her husband; siblings, Elizabeth B. Catron, Lester Bradley,Jesse E. Bradley and Hazel Bradley, also predeceased her.
She is survived by her devoted and much loved family; son, Kenneth Wayne Worrell and his wife, Barbara, of Charlottesville; two grandchildren, Rickie W. Worrell and his wife, Janet, of Charlottesville and Karen W. Wigginton and her husband, David, of Harrisonburg; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Stuart Worrell of Charlottesville and two stepgreat-grandsons, Thomas Miller of Dallas, Texas and Andrew Miller of Arrington, Virginia; three brothers, A. Lyle Bradley and William E. Bradley, both of Waynesboro and Robert C. Bradley of Staunton, also survive her.
Madeline was a long-time member of Wayne Hills Baptist Church and was retired from the General Electric Company. She was a member of the Waynesboro and Dooms Fire Company Auxiliaries.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2006, at Reynolds Funeral Service in Waynesboro conducted by the Rev. Danny Campbell. Interment will be at Augusta Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2006, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Rickie Worrell, David Wigginton, Kennan Catron, Stephen Bradley, Richard Bradley, Andrew Miller and Stuart Worrell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fun Bunch of Wayne Hills Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express their profound thanks and gratitude to all her friends and caregivers at Summit Square Retirement Community, where she had made her home for more than eight years.
