Tommy Dale Holt age 56, of Silva, MO, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 21, 1956, in St. Louis, MO, to Kenny and Francis Hughes Brown. Growing up in St. Louis he spent a lot of time at the community center, at the park and in the pool. Every Saturday he mowed the church yard with his grandfather. In 1976 he married Janie Williams and to this union two children were born. During his adult life he worked at Monroe Shock in Arkansas and managed a Burger King in St. Louis. He was in the National Guard in Arkansas for two years. Tom lived in Silva, MO, for fourteen years. He loved to barbeque and cook deer roast for the family. Family was very important to him. He would get up early to have coffee and see his grandson before school. Tom liked to ride four-wheelers and play games with his grandchildren. He loved animals and Feebe, the family dog, would meet him at the door. He always had a smile and was much loved by his family. He is survived by his parents; one son, Tommy Holt of Greenville, MO; one daughter, April Joy and her husband, David, of Silva, MO; one brother, Ricky Brown of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Sherry Holt of St. Louis, MO; eight grandchildren, Cody Dale Holt, Bayleigh Rena Holt, Jordan Dale Holt, Eli Dale Holt, Mika Dawn Sherfield, Kayla Lynn Chepley, Haley Diane Joy and Zachary Joy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; one sister, Micky Mackentosh. There was a graveside service on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at New Prospect Cemetery in Silva, MO, at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Tim Bridges ministered to the family and David Joy, Fred Joy, Aaron Sherfield, Matt Joy, Tommy Holt, and Rick Brown served as pallbearers.
