Services were held Monday, March 6, from Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson for Iva May Wilson 88, Jefferson native and longtime resident. The Rev Gerald Pettit, pastor of the Jefferson Gospel Open Bible Church, officiated. Gary and Valeria West provided music. Interment was in Jefferson Cemetery.
Iva May Wilson, daughter of Robert and Millie Jane Tucker Reed, was born May 23, 1906 in Jefferson. She died March 2, 1995, at Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson. Iva attended Jefferson Schools through 11th grade. On January, 9, 1928, she married Donald Arthur Wilson at the Boone County Courthouse. They were parents of four children: Donald Junior, George Robert, Jerry Lee, and Patricia Eileen.
Their first home was in Jefferson.
They moved to California in 1943 and later moved back to Jefferson. In 1955 they went back to California and in the early 1960s returned to Jefferson.
Iva was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her Husband Donald on September 9, 1967; two sons, Donald on August 2, 1950 and Jerry on July 1, 1993; a grandson, Robbie Wilson; and three brothers, Bernard, Claude and Ira.
Iva is survived by one son, Robert “Bob” Wilson and his wife Midge of Santa Cruz, CA; one daughter, Pat Miner and her husband Harold of Jefferson; a daughter-in-law, Georgia Wilson of North Lauderdale, FL, eight grandchildren, Barry Wilson of Dublin, CA, Becky Wilson of Milwaukee, WI, Christine Lampkin of Woodland, CA, Donna McPherson and her husband Tom of Beaver Creek, OR, Nick Wilson and his wife Linda of Warrington, VA, Lorrie Albright and her husband Billy of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Don Miner and his wife June of Jefferson, and Terry Clark and her husband Kim of Jefferson; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister Vivian Adams of Jefferson; and nieces and nephews.
