Aloys "Steven" Engelman was the only child of Aloys "Allen" and Augusta Engelmann. During World War II he worked for the Navy in Hawaii as a Civilian employee. Aloys could not be drafted because he had a "Lazy" eye but he was involved in setting up radar, during the Korean War,or Police Action" if you prefer. He did the same thing for the Air Force in Alaska. His father left him and his mother when he was about three and "Steven" was married four times. His father did not like the name Aloys and went by the name "Allen". Young Aloys called himself "Steven" during the beginning of his life time for the same reason. Around 1940 Steven dropped the second "N" on Engelmann.
