Lula Agnes King Bell, 98, has been released from her earthly home to join her beloved God in heaven on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Born March 4, 1915, in Saltsburg, Lou lived most of her life on Bell Point Road in Bell Township living happily and raising her four sons, Ronald (Ozz), Arthur (Ted), Larry and Gary. She was a caring and giving mother to her sons and a loyal and loving wife to her husband, Arthur (Pete) Bell. She was a mother and friend to her daughter-in-law, Joyce, and was loved and respected by her daughter-in-law, Frances. As a grandma, she was bested by none. She adored her grandchildren, Ronda, Peggy, Mickey, Monty, Barbie, Lori, DeeDee and Stevie, and in turn was cherished by each and every one of them. As the family grew, so did the reach of her hug. She welcomed 18 great-grandchildren and on Feb. 20, she welcomed her first great-great-granddaughter. Lou also leaves behind two sisters, Ruth Mains and Norma Lee Oskey; two brothers, Robert Miller and William Johns; and a lifetime of extended family and faithful friends. Lou spent many years working in her church, the former Truxall Pentecostal Holiness Church, as a Sunday school teacher, secretary/treasurer and member of the Women's Auxiliary. She loved God's word and spent hour after hour reading the Bible and singing hymns of praise to her God. She loved to crochet and cross-stitch and she made doilies, pillowcases and blankets for her children and grandchildren. She also spent hours watching "Matlock" on TV and was an avid Daniel O'Donnell fan, the latter she was teased about unmercifully by her granddaughters. She spent many years traveling to Potter County visiting Ole Swell Fellas Lodge with first, her husband, and later with other family members until her health prevented further visits. Mother, sister, grandmother and friend, she touched the lives of all who knew her. Now she will touch our hearts and carry our love with her to heaven. Those who have gone before her are: her husband, Pete Bell; her mother, Harriett Johns; sister, Alice Oskey; brother, Merle Miller; brother-in-law, Charles Mains; sisters-in-law, Geri Miller and Eve Miller; daughter-in-law, Janice Bash Bell; and infant grandson, Cody Michael Bell. Our family will mourn her loss and grieve for a time... but... The rain will stop... The sun will shine... and a new day will dawn... and... we will carry all the best of this wonderful woman with us, her family, until the end of our time. She is LOVED! May God welcome our mom, our grandma, our Nanny Bell. Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 17, and from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday, March 18, in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, with Pastor Scott Fairman officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo. http://www.corridonifuneralhome.com.
