Mrs. Juanita L. Hick, 82, of Galesburg, died at 1:27 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born on March 17, 1930, in Farmington, to R. L. and Mildred Even Harris. She married Edwin Hick in Farmington on Sept. 4, 1949. He survives.
Also surviving is a son, Robert (and Nancy) Hick of Galesburg; a daughter, Cathy (and Steve) Hawkinson of Galesburg; two grandchildren, Hayley (and Ryan) Painter and Kelly Hawkinson; one stepgrandchild and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Juanita was a graduate of Farmington High School and attended Cottey College in Nevada, Mo. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Connecticut Genealogical Society and the New England Genealogical Society. She was an active member of several bridge clubs and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles on her iPad.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Ek officiating. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left at www.h-p-w.com.
