Member of Quantrill's guerrillas for a brief time. Kitt was also partly responsible in arranging the funeral services for his brother-in-law, Bob Younger of the outlaw Younger Brothers. He gave comfort and support as the head of the Jackson County Poor Home and Asylum for people with mental instability and down on their luck. He was married to Emily Younger at one time. Kitt, Emily, and five of their children are at Elmwood.
