John Walter Glover, 96, of Holbrook, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in Consulate Skilled Nursing Facility of North Strabane Township.

He was born April 27, 1916, in Greene County, a son of John H. and Judith Murphy Glover.

Mr. Glover worked for Equitable Gas Co. compressing station in Rogersville from December 27, 1941, until his retirement, May 1, 1981. At the time of his retirement, his job title was crew leader.

His wife, Nellie Jane Santee Glover, whom he married March 27, 1937, in Cumberland, Md., is deceased.

Surviving are a son, Hugh Jackson (Sharon) Glover of Canonsburg; two daughters, Shirley Rose (Gene) Miller of Sycamore and Patricia Ann Glover of Bentleyville; four grandchildren, Cayci Louise Roland (Rob) Gorlitsky of Charleston, S.C., Christine (Michael) McCauley of New Freeport, Charles Roy Cramer Jr. of Foley, Mo., and Vicky Null of Kittanning; seven great-grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Deceased are sisters Mary Elizabeth Cummings, Ethel Flo "Toots" Bailey and Ellen Elizabeth Cumberledge; brothers James Delbert Glover and Harlis Earl Glover; a half sister, Opal Pearl Evans Jacobs; and a half brother, Ben Franklin Evans.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, with the Rev. Ben Williamson officiating, followed by burial in Bethany Cemetery, Holbrook. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com.
