Wife of Sterling R. Holt, Mary Jane Gregg Holt shared her husband's interest in philanthropy. She was the daughter of Martin and Mary Jane Wortman Gregg. She had no children of her own, but had several nieces. She lived in Indianapolis, but after falling ill, she asked to be taken to Danville where she had been born and raised. There she died at the home of her sister.
