Linda Diane Buchanan, 54, of Batesville died Friday, March 15, 2013 at a local nursing home.

She was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 11, 1959 to Charles "Bill" and Maxine L. (Guthrie) Buchanan.

She had a Bachelor's Degree in Education and Library Science. She was a retired librarian having worked in the Osceola School District. She enjoyed reading and was dedicated to education and children. She once received the "Teacher of the Year" award; was a member of the Ladies Desha VFW Auxiliary and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include her parents; two sisters: Katherine Mayberry of Floresville, TX and Sue Lavon Squire of Lawrenceville, GA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Minnie and M. B. Buchanan and Vaughn and Leona Guthrie.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Buchanan Cemetery near Poughkeepsie and Sitka on Hwy. 58 with Marline Moody and Bro. Warren officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville
