She was born on Tuesday, June 28, 1927, in Madison County, GA., and was the daughter of Thomas A. Taylor and Annie Ruth (Russum) Taylor.
Virginia retired after a 35 year career from Haynesworth Mill.
She loved tending to her vegetable and flower gardens and had a fondness for hummingbirds which she enjoyed as they visited her feeder.
Mrs. McClain is survived by her sons, Jerry Whiten and James Ledford, both of Anderson, SC., daughters, Patricia Ann Watson, of Townville, Mary Elizabeth Beasley, of McDonough, GA., and Linda Erwin, of Anderson, SC., sisters, Billie McKinney, of Anderson, SC., and Betty Jean Walker, of Greenwood, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas A. Taylor and Annie Ruth (Russum) Taylor.
