Jemima married at age 16 (to Benjamin Lassiter), was a mother at 17 (Serena Elizabeth Lassiter), a widow at 18 (Benjamin died), remarried at age 20 (to Seaborn Davis, her first love), gave birth to 12 more children, reared at 14th child (a grandchild), and was a widowed head of household for the last 30 years of her life.
