MAIDELLE PERKINS MITCHELL

Maidelle Mitchell was born Nov. 1, 1921 in Paducah, Texas to Clyde and Maidie Perkins. She married J.T. Mitchell on Aug. 31, 1941 after graduating high school in Kirkland. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas Women's University in Denton and later obtained her Master's Degree from Eastern New Mexico University. She began her teaching career as a Homemaking teacher then began teaching Jr. High Science. She retired from DCISD after 32 years in the classroom. Maidelle was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, TeJas Study Club, and active member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Mitchell in 1996 and a brother, Clyde Perkins, Jr.

Maidelle is survived by her son, Truitt Mitchell and his wife Michele of Brownwood; a brother, Richard Perkins of Red Oak; two sisters, Shirley Alexander of Weatherford and Mary Frances Lovelace of Crystal Lake, Ill.; one grandson, Maxton Mitchell; two granddaughters, Mysti Allen and her husband Mitchell and Tobyn Ribitzki and her husband Matt; along with four great-grandchildren.
