His mother's full name was Celia Ethel Rhoda. Her parents were William M. Rhoda (1870-1954) and Percellia Ann Arnold (b. 24 January 1876, Scio, Linn Co. Oregon; d. 31 January 1966, Scio, Linn Co. Oregon). William's maternal grandparents are buried in the same cemetery as his father. No death record has been found for his mother.
