Flora J. Worthington Benjamin, 87, of Rome, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Robert Packer Hospital with her loved ones by her side.

She was born on October 22, 1925 in Franklindale, Pa., the daughter of the late Bradford B. and Viola M. Vernon Ellis.

Flora was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She was retired from Robin Tech, Owego, N.Y. where she worked as a General Operator. Flora is Godmother to Karen Julissa Castro Madrid, a young lady from Honduras that she supported for 18 years. She watched her grow through the years as pictures were sent to her. She loved seeing her become a beautiful young lady and was proud that she was a part of her life. Flora was a supporter of T.A.C.O. in Wysox and St. Jude's. Flora enjoyed making quilts and cross stitching.

She is predeceased by her husband's Arthur Worthington, Sr. and Arthur Benjamin; son Eugene Worthington; step-daughter Marion Hyjurick; and step-sons Arthur Worthington, Jr. and Richard Worthington.

Flora is survived by her children: Linda and Jerry Sarnosky of Towanda, Pa.; Louise Luckman of Milan, Pa.; Nancy and Jeff Robbins of Rome, Pa.; Ron and Amanda Worthington of Rome, Pa.; Joyce and Jack McCloskey of Marion, N.C.; Carol Putnam of Wysox, Pa.; Janet and Mark Lott of Newark Valley, N.Y.; Janice Watkins and Steve Haner of Candor, N.Y.; and Kathy and Dave Watkins of Camby, Ind.; 13 step-children: Charlie, Hazel, Freddie, Bernice, Joyce, Bob, Carolyn, Linda, Gordon, Bill, Cathy, Joe, and David;

Twenty-one grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; sister Laura Sharp of Sayre, Pa.; brother Arthur L. (Sandy) Ellis of East Smithfield, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may call on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 11a.m. – noon, at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, Pa. Funeral Services will follow at the Funeral Home at noon with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating.

Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa.
