Mildred Josephine White, 84, Basehor, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at her daughter's home in Linwood. Funeral services were held Friday at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa. Visitation was held prior to the service at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs. Mrs. White was born in Olpe, Kan.

She was born Jan. 21, 1921, in Olpe, Kan. She worked as a waitress in the Argentine district of Kansas City, Kan., for many years and was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Altar Society in Kansas City, Kan., prior to moving to Basehor in 2002 and becoming a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. White Sr., in 1951; a son, Harry Raymond White Jr., in 1961; a brother, Orville Nuessen, in 1974; and a sister-in-law, Helen Nuessen, in 1989. She is survived by two daughters, Kay and husband, Frank D. Collins, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; and Patricia and husband, Robert Mertz, Linwood; a brother, Robert Nuessen, Basehor; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
