Chief Petty Officer Christian Michael Pike, 31, of Peoria, Ariz., died March 13 in Landstuhl, Germany, as a result of combat-related injuries sustained on March 10 while conducting stability operations in Maiwand District, Afghanistan. Pike was assigned to a West Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit.
Chief Petty Officer Christian Michael Pike, 31, died Wednesday in a military hospital in Germany of wounds he suffered on Sunday in Maiwand District, Afghanistan, Pentagon officials said. He was conducting stability operations. Pike was assigned to a West Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit. He enlisted in 2001. Pike received a number of awards and decorations for his military service including an Army Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement medals, Navy Good Conduct Medal and Navy Unit Commendation. CPO Pike is from Peoria, Arizona.
Chris was the son of Michael and Diana Pike. Services will be held on Thursday evening, 6pm at Christ Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Rd., Peoria, AZ 85383.
