Mrs. Cynthia Pauline Hayden passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the age of 101. She was born on August 26, 1911 to the late L. Lee Miller and Cora Ann Ivey. Mrs. Pauline was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church since 1920, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for ages 9-12 for 54 years, served as the pianist and organist for 80 years, and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1929, and began teaching in 1930. Mrs. Pauline was a graduate of East Texas State University, with a Bachelors and Masters Degree. She was a member of Delta Gama International Society since 1957, and was honored by Como-Pickton I.S.D. with the naming of the Pauline Hayden Junior Honor Society, she also was named the 2010 Woman of the Year by Beta Sigma Phi. Mrs. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Morris E. Hayden, on September 27, 1992; brothers, Ivey Miller and Howard Miller and one sister, Grace Kight.
