Beatrice H. Chase, age 73, a life-long resident of Dingman's Ferry, Pike County, died Sunday, Oct. 31, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Richard P. Chase and Donald A. Chase.
Born March 29, 1926 in Dingman's Ferry, in the home her grandfather built, she was a daughter of the late Emmett Bensley Sr. and Hazel (Snyder) Bensley.
She was employed by Ronson Corporation for 27 years and later by Cooper Industries for several years, before retiring in 1988.
She was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School.
She is survived by her son, Garry Chase and his wife Phyllis, of Boonville, N.Y.; grandson, James Chase and his wife Tammy; granddaughter, Kimberly Serra and her husband Timothy; great grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Chase and Kendalle Serra; step-son, Donald Chase Jr. of Napa, Calif.; and step grandson, Daniel Chase. She is also survived by her special friend, Herb Martin of East Stroudsburg. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Emmett Bensley Jr. and Clarence "Bub" Bensley.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with the Reverend Robert Mohr officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3. Interment will be in the Delaware Cemetery Association, Dingman's Ferry Cemetery, Dingman's Ferry.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Bushkill Ambulance Corps.
