The 1st Oregon Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an American Civil War era military regiment recruited in Oregon for the Union Army.

Cyrus is found on a muster roll to serve in the war against the Yakima and other Indians, from October 22, 1855, to first day of January, 1856. The Company was commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel James K. Kelly.

Cyrus also served in Armstrong & Captain Benjamin Hayden's Co. G, 1 Oregon Volunteers during the Civil War. Company "G," authorized January, 1863. Company "G" was also at Camp Watson on Rock Creek, Wheeler Co., Ore.


Cyrus Smith probably married Elizabeth Ann Woodruff in 1864. See her memorial for an affidavit to that fact.
