PARIS, MO., June 22. — Miss Mary Alexander, the accomplished daughter of Cicero Alexander, a prominent merchant of this place, was married to Irving A. Shedd, a lumber merchant of Pana, Ill., this afternoon at 2 o'clock, Elder H. B. Davis, of Canton, officiating. The bridal party left on the 2:30 train for Hannibal, where a reception was given them at the residence of E. M. Holmes.

Mrs. Shedd, EP Pioneer, Dies At 84
Word has been received of the death Aug. 24 of Mrs. Marie Alexander Shedd, 83, pioneer of El Paso.
Mrs. Shedd died in the Los Angeles home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Ruth Shedd Paul. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Wee Kirk o' the Heather in Forest Lawn.
Mrs. Shedd ware married in June, 1886, to Irving Amos Shedd in Paris, Mo. In 1896 they came to El Paso from Tucson, Ariz., with their three children, Milton, Henry and Sybil. Mrs. Shedd was a resident of El Paso from that time until 1944 when she went to Los Angeles to make her home with her son, the late Milton Shedd.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church here, past regent of the Rebecca Stoddert Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and for many years was a member of the El Paso Woman's Club and of the Woman's Department, El Paso Chamber of Commerce. She was first president of the Women's Pioneer Association of El Paso.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Shedd Perham; a granddaughter, Mrs. Ruth Shedd Paul: two grandsons, Milton C. Shedd, Jr., and Irving Amos Shedd; three great grandchildren, Ruth Lauren Paul, Steven Alexander Shedd and Carol Louise Shedd, all of Los Angeles; a sister, Miss Nell Alexander of Paris, Mo.; and two brothers, Dr. Carter Alexander of Columbia University, retired, and Brig. Gen. Roger G. Alexander who was dean of West Point until his retirement two years ago.
