Reverend Lynn Eugene “Gene” Hall, went to that heavenly city that he preached about for over 60 years on Thursday, June 21, 2018. He served in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1950. Gene was a coal miner for 35 years of his life. Over the years he pastored for several churches and evangelized. Terry Christian Church was his home church that he pastored, for 30 years before he retired.

Gene was born on August 23, 1930 in Concho, WV to the late Lynn V. Hall (1893-1977) and Beulah McMillion-Hall (1897-1967). Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Ruth Spangler-Hall (1921-2012) whom he married on July 9, 1951 in Fayetteville, Fayette County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Fayette County, WV, 1951, Page 76, Line 16, Application Date: July 5, 1951); brothers, Billy Hall (Deceased), Bernard Hall (Deceased), and Jackie Hall (Deceased); sisters, Helen Hall-Burgess (Deceased), Margie Hall-Campbell (Deceased), Mary Hall-Adkins (Deceased); and granddaughter, Christy Davis (Deceased).

Those left to cherish Gene’s memory are his children, Jackie Hall-Hamilton, Sharon Hall Ballengee and husband Ronnie Ballengee, Ronnie Hall and wife Missy Hall, Bobby Hall and wife Becky Hall: his grandchildren, Lynnette Collins, Amber Heater, Brandy Ward, Justin Ballengee, Matthew Hall, Rodney Clark, Hannah Slate, Abby Hall; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 23, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with Rev. Daniel Legg, Rev. Bill Lilly, and Rev. Ronnie Hall officiating. There will be a special reading by Rev. Randy Smithson. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm until the service starts at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
