Claire F. Troast, 80, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at home. Born in Newark, she lived in East Brunswick and Myrtle Beach, SC for 22 years before moving to Whiting in 2002. Claire was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard I. Troast, Sr. in 2010 and her son Daniel in 1993. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Ken Bergen of Brick; five sons and daughters-in-law, Richard I., Jr. and Judy of South Toms River, Thomas and Sue of Emmitsburg, MD, Jack and Diane of Browns Mills, Eric of New Mexico and Glen and Mary of Hagerstown, MD; one sister, Susann Pickell of Brick; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, March 17th at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:45 a.m., Monday, March 18th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
