CHESAPEAKE - Mark Cherry of 2112 Farmer Lane, the husband of Mrs. Blancie Cherry an a retired longshoreman, died Thursday in a Norfolk hospital.

A native of Princess Anne County, he was a longshoreman for 27 years an retired. He was a member of the International Longshoremen's Association Local 1248.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Juanita Bryant of Jacksonville, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Juanita Lassiter of Chesapeake; four sisters, Mrs. Leeverta Russell, Mrs. Julia Burfoot, and Mrs. Cora Benson of Chesapeake, and Miss Irene Cherry of Norfolk; and two brothers, William Cherry of Portsmouth and Nathaniel Cherry of Norfolk.

A funeral will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Leon Freeman. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park with Fitchett Funeral Home in charge.
