Lynda C. "L.T." Thompson

Lynda (LT) Joyce Carroll Thompson, born September 4, 1938, in Sylvester, Georgia and a resident of Orange Beach Al since 1999 died March 11, 2013 following a brief illness. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Thompson, daughters, Michelle Thompson and Dana Thompson and step-daughters, Susan B. Whatley and Sandra A. Lockard.
She had a long successful career in banking as Vice-President, Bank of America in Atlanta Georgia, General Manager of Financial Suppliers in Duluth Georgia, President and Board Chairman of Cobb American Bank, Marietta, Georgia and most recently an officer at Vision Bank Alabama.
LT was very active within the Orange Beach and Ono Communities. Wherever she lived her life was dedicated to helping others. LT was a passionate supporter of hospice, worked long hours as a hospital volunteer, delivered Meals on Wheels and worked with programs to educate the youth in Baldwin County. She also served on the Baldwin County Board of Adjustments, Ono Island Board of Directors and a member of many Board committees.
She never met a stranger, she was an avid bridge player and reader. Her zest for life will live on in the hearts of her family and many friends. LT will be greatly greatly missed.
Services will be held at Orange Beach United Methodist Church, 28751 Canal Road, Orange Beach, AL on Saturday March 16, 2013 at 11:00am. Following services, a celebration of life will be held at the Harriett Cockrell Community Center on Ono Island. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mobile Patriots Wheelchair Basketball Team in care of Stephenie Jeansonne, 4595 Hawthorne Place, Mobile, AL.36608.
